This post is a personal shout out and thank you thank you thank you to my Secret Sister (from the OTSP Secret Sister Project) for their continual amazing, thoughtful gifts each month. This has been my first time participating, and I’m having so much fun with it, thanks largely in part to my Secret Sister! Get ready for lots and lots of exclamation points.
I received my November package from my Secret Sister today, and this is what they sent (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!):
The books:
What I Thought Was True by Huntley Fitzpatrick
IT’S SIGNED AND PERSONALIZED!! How awesome is that?! I think I only have one other personalized book, and it came from a Goodreads giveaway, so this is super special to me. Thank you so much to my Secret Sister for taking the time to do that. I read one of her other books, My Life Next Door, last fall and really enjoyed it, so I’m sure I’ll like this one too!
A Thousand Cuts by Simon Lelic
I’ve said this before, but books about school shootings are fascinating to me. I think because I’m a teacher, the subject just hits really close to home and it’s always in the back of my mind that something like this could happen in my workplace. Reading about how others have dealt with it (fictional or otherwise) has always been very interesting to me. PLUS, the blurb on the back says that it deals with bullying and sexism, which means I’m immediately adding it to my TBR for next week’s Anti Bullying Readathon. Perfect timing!!!
Some of the other goodies:
I literally screamed when I opened the box and saw these on top. I’m obsessed with all things Marvel, and these are adorable!! I just rewatched the Captain America movies last weekend too, so the characters have been fresh on my mind lately. I snapped a picture right away and sent it to one of my friends and she freaked out too. I cannot wait to use these!
It’s crazy that you got this for me, because I really like this quote, and I love that it’s rainbow colors! My mom has always loved super bright colorful things, so anything colorful reminds me of her. She’ll probably try to steal it when my parents visit over the Thanksgiving holiday. I’ll have to keep my eye on it and make sure it doesn’t disappear!
I love this more than anything! I was just complaining last week that it’s almost impossible to find cute bookish images that feature girls with short hair. And she has glasses! And tea! And a book stack! Actually me in book form. Love love love this.
My Secret Sister also sent me some yummy candy (I’ve already eaten half the Sweetarts OOPS) and a nice card. Thank you so much Secret Sister for continually brightening up my months and shocking me with how well you know me! I’m so grateful to have you in my life!
