Yesterday I mentioned that I’m participating in a reading challenge this month, and it’s Diversity December Bingo! I’m so so excited about this one. I’ve been making a conscious effort to diversify my reading, so this challenge fits in perfectly with that goal. Most people are covering a 5-square line from the card. I’m being overly ambitious and attempting to complete as much of the card as possible. I’m hoping to read books to cover most of the 25 categories.

Wrap Up: April 2016
Thanks in part to the Bookish Bingo Readathon, TBR Takedown, and Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon, I ended up reading 20 books in April! It was also rainy most of the month and that kept me inside a lot more than I expected.

2016 Book Blog Discussion Challenge
This challenge is to help get us discussing books and book blogging, so talk about whatever you want as long as it’s relevant to book blogging. Discussions can be book related or book blogging related (or generally blogging related – no discussions about things that are completely off-topic like travel or fashion, etc). Discussions can also be about you personally if it’s a get-to-know-you type post.

#SIXSQUAREDCHALLENGE Intro Post
Join in the Six Squared Reading Challenge for 2016!
I’ve seen a lot of great reading challenges created for the new year, but nothing that allows me the flexibility to mood read (a must for me!) while still motivating me to diversify my reading. The Six Squared Challenge allows you to read any genre, length, format, age level, and language!
Challenge info:
- Your challenge is to read six books from each of the six categories, for a total of 36 books by the end of 2016:
- 6 New Releases (Debut Authors)
- 6 New Releases (Loved Authors)
- 6 Books to Start a Series
- 6 Books to Complete a Series (can be different from above)
- 6 Book to Movie Adaptations
- 6 Goodreads Choice Awards Winners or Nominees
- There are no minimum number of books required for each month. Three per month would be a good starting point since there are 36 books in the challenge, but you can read 1 book from the challenge in January and 10 in February if you want. This challenge is super flexible, so do whatever works best for you!
Open to all:

Rock My TBR: 2016 Reading Challenge
The Rock My TBR Reading Challenge was created by Sarah over at The YA Book Traveler. You can read more about the challenge on her blog HERE
The challenge is to read at least one book every month that was previously published and you already own. The official challenge hashtag is #RockMyTBR. Sarah is planning to host periodic twitter chats and giveaways as well throughout the year. At the end of each month, participants will make a post updating progress on the challenge.
This challenge should be pretty easy for me because I don’t read a ton of ARCs (I just don’t have access to many) and I rarely read library books, so I’m usually already reading published books that I own. To make this a little more challenging, I’m creating another rule for myself: at least one of my books each month has to have been published prior to 2016. I have so many unread books and often in a month I end up only reading the newest books I’ve bought, so I think this will help me get through all of my older releases as well.
What 2016 Challenges are you participating in? I’m working on creating one of my own as well, so be on the lookout for that!
