Massive January Reading Wrap Up

How was your January? I read everything that was on my TBR for the month! Hooray! Actually, somehow I managed to read 27 books in January???!!!!  All but 4 were audiobooks, so that definitely helped.  I got a lot of cross stitching done while I listened to books, and I had a 5 day weekend in the middle of the month (thank you snow days!) where I listened to 2 books every day.  Evenfall was one of the ebooks I read, and it was 1,427 pages, so it was a feat in itself just to get that finished in a month. I also read and reviewed 46 children’s books on NetGalley, but I don’t keep track of those on Goodreads.

My favorites this month were:

Here’s how I’m doing on my 2018 Goodreads goal so far. Off to a good start! I DNFed the Fallen novella, which is why my GR numbers are off by one.

I like to include my TBR for the next month in my wrap up posts, but since I read so much in January and my TBR for February is super ambitious as well (almost 20 books), I’ll save that for tomorrow.

  1. How did you manage to listen to so many audiobooks? They normally take so long, I normally end up listening to them on fast speed or buying a text version and reading the rest of it. They are great for the car though.

I’m glad you liked The Hate U Give! It’s one of the books I found completely worth the hype.

    • I always listen to audiobooks on 2x speed. That’s what works best for me. 1x is way slower than I could read a book myself so I don’t see the point. I listen to audiobooks while I’m working on cross stitch projects, coloring, doing puzzles, or diamond painting. A lot of audiobooks are only 3-4 hours long when put on 2x speed so it’s pretty normal for me to read 2-3 a day on a weekend and 1x day during the work week when I don’t have anything else going on in the evenings.
