Top Ten Tuesday: Books I Meant to Read In 2017 But Didn’t Get To

top-ten-tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is an original weekly feature created by The Broke and the Bookish.  This week’s topic: Books I Meant to Read In 2017 But Didn’t Get To.

I’m limiting myself to 2017 standalone releases because of the sheer number of books I didn’t pick up last year.  I’m notorious for taking years and years to finish series books, and my level of enjoyment of the first book doesn’t seem to motivate me in the slightest. I still haven’t finished the Grisha trilogy, Lunar Chronicles, or the latest release in either of SJM’s series.  And that’s just the tip of the iceberg! 🙈   Please hound me to finish reading your favorite series, because I clearly need the encouragement and can almost guarantee that I haven’t completed it yet, whatever it is.

Without further ado, here are 10 standalones from 2017 that I still haven’t gotten to.

The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas (I know, I know. It’s on my TBR for this month!)
You’re Welcome, Universe by Whitney Gardner
Autonomous by Annalee Newitz
When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon
A Quiet Kind of Thunder by Sara Barnard

The Upside of Unrequited by Becky Albertalli
This Mortal Coil by Emily Suvada
Artemis by Andy Weir
They Both Die At the End by Adam Silvera (also on my January TBR!)
10 Things I Can See From Here by Carrie Mac

Which of these (besides THUG and TBDATE) do I need to move to the top of my TBR?

  1. I loved The Hate U Give but this isn’t an unusual opinion! I was a little scared about reading it because the hype was ridiculous but it turned out to be completely worth it! I also really liked A Quiet Kind of Thunder (I wasn’t expecting that conflict at all) and They Both Died at the End.
