My 25 Pound Book Outlet Black Friday Haul

I have hundreds of unread books but I can never resist Book Outlet’s Black Friday sale…so I ended up buying so much that it was delivered in a 25 pound box bigger than my dog.

Ta-da!! Lots of books, more coloring books to add to my already huge collection, a fun craft project, and some postcard books for Postcrossing. A few of the books I ordered were Scratch & Dent, but they were all still in great condition. I tend to have really great luck with S&D books. Only once have a I received something that was in less than stellar condition, and their customer service replaced it immediately when I contacted them.

Some of these have been on my wish list for a really long time, so I’m excited about the selection I managed to get. Only two hardcovers because I seem to be in the minority in the book community who prefers to buy paperbacks. I read Kiss Cam last year for a blog tour and enjoyed it a lot, so I’m happy to own a physical copy now. Kathryn Ormsbee’s Tash Hearts Tolstoy was one of my favorite reads this year, so I’m interested to check out another book by her as well. I wish I’d known that the Catherine McKenzie book was a mass market paperback, but I do already have her books in a couple different sizes so it isn’t a huge deal. I read the first book in the Enemy series after I placed this order, and unfortunately I didn’t love it, so I’ll be getting rid of The Hunted without reading it :/

Close ups of the postcard books.  The two books on the left are really entertaining.

Coloring books!!  I don’t even like cats but the illustrations in the Christmas cats book are so adorable that I couldn’t pass it up. A lot of these were on my Amazon coloring book wish list (yes, I have one) so I’m trying not to feel too guilty about buying them, even though I really need to complete some of the coloring books I already own. I’ve already started on one of the scratch-off mandalas and it’s a lot of fun!

Aren’t these adorable? I’m obsessed with Marvel so this is going to be a fun craft project this winter while I’m having Netflix marathons or listening to audiobooks.

In total, minus the Marvel craft kit and a book that was for a gift, I only spent $2.20/item, which is an amazing deal. The coloring books and postcards were more expensive than the books I bought. Most of the books in my order were $1.50 or less! Did you make any fun purchases on Black Friday or Cyber Monday?

  1. Looks like you managed to find some amazing deals! I’ve always had good luck with the Scratch and Dent books too minus one, but even then it was just the book sleeve and not the physical copy. Happy reading!
