Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon

The 10th year of the Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon is on tomorrow! It’s my favorite readathon, and it’s unique in that everyone starts at the exact same time, no matter where you’re located in the world. For me, it goes from 7am Saturday to 7am Sunday. Check out the full list of start times here. I shared my tips for 24 hour readathons in a separate blog post, so be sure to check that out too if you’re participating.

Last round I ignored virtually all of the hourly challenges and other social media interactions and focused solely on reading. I got a lot read, but I missed out on the typical #readathon experience I love. This time I’m hoping to better balance my reading time and breaks to check in with other participants on social media.

Also different this round, I will not be creating a TBR pile like I typically do. I only have two books in mind, my current read and a book I need to read for a blog tour next week. The rest of my reading will be completely based on my mood. I’m considering reading almost completely from my AO3 Marked For Later list. I have 8 pages of fics, some of which have been there for years and years. If nothing else, it’ll help me made a dent in the list by forcing me to get rid of the stuff from fandoms I don’t care about anymore. If I do decide to go that route, I’ll determine my final page count at the end of the readathon based on 250 words/page (thanks to #elizabeth_fitz for this suggestion!).

I’m hoping to dive into a couple web comics too. I read Check, Please! last month and really enjoyed it, so I’m interested to check out some more. I need some recommendations because I have no idea where to start, so please share your favorites!
