Daily Bookish Challenges: Days 1-5

I’ve had family in town all weekend for the Easter holiday, so I’m falling behind on my #treesofreveriereadathon posts! I hosted my first reading sprint this morning on twitter. I have another this afternoon if you missed it! If you’d like to see the other dates/times I’m hosting, my full sprint schedule is here. and now, onto the challenges!

TBR Days

The premise for this is pretty simple. For the first three days of every month, read only TBR book on your shelves that have been long neglected.  Because I am on a book buying ban slow down, I consider all unread books on my shelves to fit into this category.  The book I happened to read during these three days has been sitting on my shelves for over a year though,  Love, Rosie by Cecelia Ahern. I really want to see the movie with Sam Claflin and Lily Collins that was released last year, but I have to read the book first! I read about 200 pages of Love, Rosie during these three days. Not awful, considering I was hosting guests all weekend.

Create a wishlist of books written by Japanese authors!

I love this challenge because I’m really trying to read more diversely this year. The only Japanese author I could think of off the top of my head was Murakami (and I haven’t read any of his books yet), so I had to do some digging for this challenge.

Here’s my list. Let me know if you’ve read any of these titles or have other recommendations!

Japanese Authors

1Q84 by Haruki Murakami
Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami
Out by Natsuo Kirino
Real World by Natsuo Kirino
Train Man by Hitori Nakano
Chain Mail by Hiroshi Ishizaki
The Eighth Day by Mitsuyo Kakuta
The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa (Japanese American)
Talon by Julie Kagawa (Japanese American)
